Are We Alone?
I wanted to write about a subject that has been on my mind lately, and that is do aliens exist. First of all I want to say that I am not trying to convince anybody that they do exist because I don't know, I am merely writing in hopes to get you to think about it and see if i can get some feedback from people with personal experiences of sightings or something of that nature. I have also recently become aware thanks to a program on the History channel about the fact that people going all the way back to the ancient Egyptians and from all over the world have depicted what appears to be UFOs and astronauts in different ways such as heiroglyphs, cave drawings, geoglyphs, and even paintings.
I also wanted to share my Dad's experience that he had when he was in Tallahassee Florida in 1966. First of all let me tell you a little about my Dad he is a professor and has been for over 20 years, he intelligent, honest, and also a spiritual man. What he told me I haven't heard him tell anybody else other than my Mom when he was telling me. This is how his experience started, he had pulled into a gas station and noticed a group of people gathered around looking up so he got out to see what they were looking at. What he saw was a metallic object hovering probably about 10 yards above a power line pole.It was saucer shaped and about the size in circumference of a medium sized helicopter and was close enough he could make out some of the detail to it, The object hovered for about 3 minutes without making any sound or moving at all, then it shot off at a remarkable speed out of sight (basically instantly). There had been so many witness's that the air force made an official statement stating that what people saw was a reflection off a jet stream. He laughs and says "Right".
So in conclusion im going to say that I myself am going to keep an open mind because there are a lot of credible people that have witnessed something unusual, but I will also be skeptical to some degree as there are also a lot of crazy people about as nutty as a squirrel turd out there as well. And there is some evidence that would suggest that our ancestors might have seen some strange things to, but we can't be 100% sure because we don't have a UFO on display for the public to see. But if they are real it would probably be safe to say that there is a government cover up going on. I hope this article has been entertaining if it has pass it on. Thank you for your comment gwinto500, I think its actually insulting to those people and my Dad to have been told such a dim-witted explanation, sounds about like something out of a Men in Black movie. LoL
I belive your Dad the Gov always hides this kinda of stuff from us. The Gov must think were stupid if we were going to belive an explanation like "oh it was just a reflection" come on who would belive that someone who doesnt want Aliens to be proven real it's deffinitly a cover up.
Where is the island Jotuo, or Toengt'ing lake? Who is "Admiral Blaeu"?

Hi Hui56 it is in Japan, An expedition took place in 1957 (two years before an earthquake in that region). The expedition was led by professor Tsj'i Pen-Lai. They found various reliefs showing "humans" in strange clothes which looked like astronaut suits (hose like objects attached to the clothes). They also found a painting which apparently resembled the solar system. The third and fourth circle (planet) were connected with a line. Also there were ten planets (excluding the sun as planet). This connects easily to the theories about Nibiru, planet X, etc.Also to answer your question about Admiral Blaeu painting it is a
UFO sighting by two Dutch ships in North Sea, 1660. This is illustration of the event and is found in one of the series books, “Theatrum Orbis Terrarum" by Admiral Blaeu. These books were compilations of articles by various authors and consisted of detailed accounts of long trips at sea, cartography information, and etc. The witnesses said the object moved slowly in the sky above them and seemed to be made of two disks of differing sizes. That's very convincing to me. The other story about professor "Tsj'i Pen-Lai", an island "Jotuo", a lake "Toengt'ing"... I can't find any evidence they ever existed, and there were no major Japanese earthquakes in the 1950s or 60s:

could very well be possible, I dont know if you ever watched ancient aliens on history channel or not but its a great show that really gets you thinking. Maybe youtube it sometime if you can.

Great Hub! I like the photos and videos. UFO's have been visiting this planet since the dawn of man and are very real.
I believe they exist. Just like we are researching on MARS by finding water, then CO2, now we are creating green house to plant trees to see if they survives..who knows next would be an/few microorganism(s). This is when the lifecyle starts (and started long ego on earth). Isn't it possible that a far more advanced race from another planet did the same thing on Earth millions (may be billion) years ago and now they come to see where their research is now?
Some of us are not ready believe in them, but I question their intelligence. Why there can't be an more advanced species in outerspace? If we can achieve such advanced technologies that we have now (which couldn't be imagine a decade ago), in few hundred years, think about those who travel hundreds of light years to see us.
Also, (my personal view)...our ancestors said God stays in the heaven which is up ahead...isn't it where Aliens come from? Aren't they our god if they brought the life here? In Hindu mythologies, god used to give warhead (like arrows with the capabilities to blast [like a mini nuclear missile], rain [like artificial raining] etc.) to those who have penanced. I seriously doubt, at those time the mankind had some contact with Alien and these warhead were given by them to win a war or battle.

Of course aliens exist. The universe is infinite - probably an infinite number of different alien species exist. Whether or not they are intelligent or similar to bacteria, the majority of them are most likely bacteria-like but intelligent aliens must also exist due to the infinite nature of the universe. Do I believe that if alien societies have technology capable of traveling hundreds of light-years (minimum) that they would choose to come to Earth? Probably not, we aren't that interesting IMO, and any alien visiting Earth would be very likely to die if they were discovered by any Human... lol.
Come read my analogy of Existence, the universe, time, the multiverse, etc if you are interested in this sort of thing.

Great hub! I like the images at the start. I can't quite figure out how a metallic object which hovers and then shoots off at great speed could be interpreted as a reflection off a jet stream, but there you go I suppose!
